William R. Krogstie, Sr.

William R. Krogstie Sr., age 71 of Cary, IL passed away suddenly, but peacefully on March 15, 2020 of heart complications.  Married for 47 years to his beloved wife Carol, the couple spent a wonderful life together including two children and four grandchildren.  Bill was born January 2, 1949 the son of Walter and Edith Krogstie.   

Bill is survived by his wife Carol, son Bill Jr. (Kristin), daughter Tracy Galindo (Guillermo), four grandchildren Addie & Will Krogstie and Elijah & Adam Galindo, sisters Terry Giers (Dan) & Mary Edborg and brothers Jim, John (Sutton) and George (Beth), and many other family members and friends.

Bill spent more than 30 years in the banking industry, as a CPA at ABN AMRO / LaSalle / Bank of America.  A loyal and devoted family man all around, Bill retired at the age of 56 so he could do what he enjoyed most, which was spending time with Carol and their grandchildren, golfing and playing cards.  Bill also enjoyed spending the winter months with Carol at their home in Bonita Springs, FL. 

There will be a Memorial Funeral Mass for Bill on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 410 First St, Cary, Il.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Chicago Youth Centers (CYC) [chicagoyouthcenters.org], an organization that Bill proudly supported which helps open the pathway of possibilities for youth in underserved communities.
