Obituary

Timothy Paul Patrick, 48, of Elgin, IL passed away suddenly on December 28, 2022.  He is survived by his son Charlie Patrick; father Edwin; mother Linda (Banas); brother Brian, his wife Stacey, and their three children (Payton, Audra and Zoey); sister Kristin Bordeaux, her husband Mark, and their three children (Benjamin, AJ and Grayson).  Tim is also survived by his former wife Sarah (mother of Charlie).

Tim graduated from St. Edward High School and studied at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  Whether while working in technical sales at Precision Measurement Products, a genius for Apple, Inc., or various other entities more recently, he always took great pride in being a problem solver and technical savant.

Tim had a passion for fixing, and truly believed there was no tool he could not master.  He loved to deconstruct and re-build, fearlessly self-teaching himself the inner-workings of just about anything whether it was an appliance, his plumbing and electrical, or a personal electronic device.  He seemed to be born with this natural technical curiosity and loved to share this gift with family and friends alike throughout his life, which brought him so much joy.

Tim was a life-long lover of animals, and over the years owned and cared for more than can be realistically counted.  A python, various fresh and salt-water fish, and a beautiful long-tailed eclectus parrot were among his many companions. However, he held a special place in his heart for dogs, often volunteering to temporarily shelter for those in need.  From his first family dog, a beloved boxer named Cosmo, to his last, an affectionate bulldog named Otis, he was passionate about caring for them, and always asked about his family's furry companions as well.

Tim also loved to golf, and was an accomplished sleight-of-hand magician who could command amazement over the years with a common refrain of "how did he do that", no doubt leaving many people reading this with smiles and great memories.  He found love again later in his life with Jennifer Ann Iacullo (October 13, 1970 - July 20, 2022) to whom he provided daily love, care and comfort until the day she passed earlier this summer. Above all, Tim was an adored son, loyal brother, beloved uncle, and while he never accomplished the hole-in-one he sought on the golf course, he and his former wife Sarah certainly attained the equivalent with the birth of their only son Charlie.  Tim was so proud of the young man Charlie has become and Tim's kind-heart and loving spirit will live on through him as his greatest legacy.
As a lifetime lover of dogs and a believer in giving back to those in need, donations in Tim's name in lieu of flowers can be made to this effort through: http://www.mobilemuttsrescue.org/
