Thomas Joseph Aremka, known affectionately by family and friends as Tom, peacefully passed away on September 10, 2023, in Cary, Illinois. Born on July 18, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, Tom lived a life characterized by love, kindness, and selflessness. Tom proudly served in the Army in occupied Germany, where he demonstrated his commitment to his country and his unwavering bravery. After his service, Tom returned to Illinois where he embarked on a distinguished career with Union Special. Over his 35+ years at the company, Tom was recognized for his dedication, hard work, and his willingness to always lend a helping hand. Tom was not only a hard worker but also a loving family man. He was the devoted husband to Adrienne, his wife of 62 years. He was the proud father of his daughter, Michelle and son, Keith. He was the doting grandfather to Jackson and his wife, Ashley, and Benjamin and his wife, Shellie. His joy was further multiplied by the birth of his great-grandson, Theodore. Tom was a man of many interests, but model trains and his family were his true passions. He spent countless hours creating intricate model train landscapes, a hobby that brought him great joy and relaxation. His love for his hobby was only surpassed by the love he had for his family. Tom was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones, sharing stories, and making memories. Tom's legacy is one of love and kindness. He was always the first to offer help, and he did so with a smile and a kind word. His selfless nature touched everyone he met, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.Tom's life was a testament to his values. He was a man who believed in the importance of family, hard work, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. In remembering Tom, we celebrate a life well-lived. We honor a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and lived with integrity. His memory will forever be a beacon of love, kindness, and selflessness. As we say goodbye to Tom, we remember his love for life, his dedication to his family, and his commitment to his work. His life was a beautiful example of the values he held dear. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Tom's memory by living a life filled with love, kindness, and selflessness. Just as Tom did, make the world a better place through your actions and your words. His legacy will continue to inspire us all, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
