Stephen A. Davis, born on March 28, 1938, in Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, in McHenry, IL, leaving behind a legacy of love, honor, and cherished memories. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.


Stephen grew up in the heart of Chicago and graduated from Chicago Vocational School in 1956. He proudly served in the United States Navy.


After his service, Stephen met and married the love of his life, Marilyn (Berger) Davis. Together, they built a family that would be the center of Stephen's world. Although his beloved wife, Marilyn, and children, Mary and Daniel, predeceased him, their memories remained a comforting presence in his life.


Stephen is survived by his sister, Susan Davis. His children Sharon (Steve) Madigan, Timothy (Dawn) Davis and Alexander (Jennifer) Davis.
Grandchildren Rich, Brad, Tiffany, Chris, Timothy Jr, Megan, Clarissa, and Abigail and great-grandchildren Richard Jr, Bradley Jr, Cameron Jr, and Londyn.


An avid swimmer and gardener, Stephen found tranquility and joy in these pastimes. He was known for his beautiful backyard garden, a peaceful oasis where he spent countless hours nurturing his plants. Swimming provided him with a sense of freedom and vitality, and he enjoyed many peaceful mornings cutting through the calm waters of the local YMCA pool.


He was a member of St Peter and Paul Catholic Church.


As we remember Stephen A. Davis, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with purpose, love, and an abundance of cherished moments. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him, but the warmth of his memory will continue to inspire and comfort us all.
