Scott Alan Martin, age 65, native of Oak Park, IL. and a resident of Arabi, La. for the past 24 years earned his angel wings on Sunday January 16 in Huntley, IL.

Scott was born on June 13, 1956 to James Franklin Martin Jr.and Regina Joanne Martin (Simkus).  

Scott was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 22 years, Fay Noel Martin (Esler), and a loving father to Renee Kathleen Martin and Sarah Jean Martin. He was a very proud and loving grandfather to Keynan Darnell Davis, Keyshaun Donell Davis, Jermel Kirk Bailey, Lilah Jean Oltmann and Madelyne Scott Oltmann. Scott also leaves behind his siblings, James Martin III (Judy), Karen Jean Korando, and Francine Louise McCormick, and a lifelong best friend, Mark Testa, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Scott was a magnificent Master Carpenter and loved anything that smelled like wood. He worked as a Production Manager for various companies including GES Expo, Tangram International, Renaissance Mgmt. Freeman Decorating who actually created a department specifically to accommodate his talents, Creative Services. In his later years he also became a member of Local 39 IATSE.

Scott was remarkably compassionate, easy going, fun loving, and adventurous. We were blessed to have him in our lives and will miss him every day for the rest of ours.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, James and Regina Martin, grandparents James F. Martin Sr. and Lillian Gertrude Martin, John and Anne Simkus, and brother in law Steven S. Korando.

Private family services will be held at a later date in New Orleans, La.
