Ronald Joseph Medill

Ronald Joseph (Ron/Ronnie) Medill passed away at Good Shepherd Hospital on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.  He was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 31, 1941 to the late Joseph Peter Medill and Frances (Pinio) Medill.  Ronald is preceded in death by his son Joseph Ronald Medill, his parents, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins (who he grew up with and thought of as siblings).  Ron is survived by his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Bonnie L. (McInerny) Medill, his two married daughters and son-in-laws: Debbie and Ed Gorecki, Julie and Vince Homes; six grandchildren: Jennifer, Eddie (Ioana), Megan, Joey, Josh (Taylor), Jake (Jenna) and seven great-grandchildren: Reagan, Jamison, Jillian, Charley, Arden, Frankie, and Elena.  Family, friends, and co-workers knew Ron as a naturally wonderful storyteller and lover of social gatherings especially those that included family.  He enjoyed the love, laughter, and rapt attention that he could feel (often late into the night) while telling any number of his stories. Sometimes, Ron would be laughing (and crying) so hard that he found it difficult to complete a story; however, those listening most likely could complete the story for him and then join him in laughter.  Ron was one of a kind and will be greatly missed!

There will be a visitation for Ron on Wednesday, June 1. 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Rd., Cary.  Funeral Service Thursday June 2nd at 11:00 AM at the funeral home and will be followed with burial at Windridge Memorial Park.  Visit kahlemoore.com to express condolences.
