Robin Ann Hall, age 76, of Trout Valley, IL, passed away on March 3, 2026. She was born January 3, 1950 in Evansville, IN to her loving parents, William and Cassie (née Paschel) Harre.
Robin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Southern Illinois University and later received her law degree from Loyola University Chicago. She went on to build a distinguished career as a corporate attorney with Akzo Nobel, where she worked for 27 years. Known for her intelligence, professionalism, and dedication, she was highly respected by colleagues and friends alike.
Robin shared a loving marriage of 29 years with her husband, David. Their story began with a blind date—one that quickly revealed the foundation of their shared faith and values. Robin “passed her first test,” as David liked to say, when she agreed to attend a Saturday evening service with him at Willow Creek Church the very next week. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life.
Despite the demands of her career in Chicago, Robin treasured the quiet comforts of home and the rhythms of everyday life. She enjoyed painting and regularly attended classes at the Main Street Art Center in Lake Zurich. Her faith community was also an important part of her life, and she cherished the friendships she built through Bible Study Fellowship.
Robin’s life was filled with unique and joyful moments. During a trip to Australia, she climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge and surprised the guide by mentioning that Akzo Nobel—her employer—had supplied the paint used when the bridge was repainted. In a remarkable coincidence, another climber in their small group revealed he also worked for Akzo Nobel in England. Robin also briefly appeared on the BBC television program Songs of Praise when the show recorded a worship service at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. Having seen a call for volunteers to attend and sing hymns, she happily joined the congregation for the recording.
Robin will be remembered for her deep faith, thoughtful spirit, creative talents, and the warmth she shared with those around her. She found joy in simple things—faith, friendship, creativity, and the love she shared with her family.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elsie Champion and Chris Harre; brother, Tom Harre; and brothers-in-law, Ken Champion and Jay Zacharias. She is survived by her husband, David Hall; children, David and Michael Lawson; stepchildren, Michael (Anna) and Colin (Charlotte) Ferguson, and Tracy (Tim) Parsley; siblings, Jim (Brenda) Harre, Doug (Susan) Harre, and Mary Zacharias; grandchildren, William (Shay) and Manuel Parsley, Ian (Candice), Emmett, and Duncan Ferguson, and Kate and Claire Ferguson; great-grandchild, Pierceson Parsley; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:00pm until funeral service at 4:00pm, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Living Grace Community Church, 1500 Silver Lake Road, Cary, IL 60013. Pr. Cary Hughes will be officiating.
Interment will be private.
