Robert "Bob" Dilillo, Sr. Obituary

Robert (Bob) Frank Dilillo, Sr., of Cary, passed away May 11, 2020.  Bob was born October 7, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Eleanor Dilillo (Lenski).  He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  Bob was known for his gentle ways and patient approach to his colleagues, students, and his family.  Bob devoted himself to teaching others, including acting as Scout Master for Webelos and Boy Scouts at St John Bosco Parish and even gave up his vacation time to lead scouting trips.  He enjoyed figuring out how things work and never found a problem he couldn’t solve.  He had many hobbies and talents and left a legacy of artistic stained glass and paintings for his family and friends.  Bob married the love of his life, Darlene (Tcharanian), on August 22, 1964.  They were best friends and inseparable during their more than 55 years together.

Bob was the loving father of Robert (Heather) of Lake in the Hills, and Suzanne (Jim) Pittacora of Western Springs, and the cherished grandfather of Jonathon and Jason Dilillo, and Vincent, Jacqueline and Jimmy Pittacora.  He was also the beloved brother of James (Susan) Dilillo and Mary Ann (Chet) Kania, as well as a loving uncle to Julie (Kania) Tupiak, Laurie (Kania) Noschese, Melissa and Jennifer Dilillo, and his late nephew Steven Krueger.  Also loving uncle to many great nieces and nephews.
