Robert W. Pozen

Passed peacefully in his sleep, comfortably snoring in the face of the cancer that took him. Robert had a smile worth waiting for and a sense of humor appreciated by anyone who was willing to “pull his finger” when asked.

He adored his five granddaughters and one grandson, and gently protected them from the dangers of the world the moment they were born. His 50-year marriage to Diane was filled with laughter, compromise, Costco, impatience, scolding and probably…definitely…love.

He could fix almost anything, especially for his three children: Brian, Robin and Todd.

He prided himself on his knack to solve problems, and the dozens of flash drives, filled with research-laden word docs and “utube” videos, reveal his humble tenacity to do so. In fact, his workbench will now act as the national repository for tools, as he has every single one ever made. A true lifelong learner, he considered his college degree, earned late in life, to be one of his greatest accomplishments.

He adored his son-in-law Rob and both of his daughters-in-law Vanessa and Goda, each considered family well before any ceremony made it so.

His life was filled with music and people who loved him, and our lives are forever off-key without him.

Robert, Bob, Bobby, Poppa, Papa, Dad, or Chick; however you called to him, he was always there. His legacy will live on in all of us. When you care for others, you honor him.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at a later date.
