Rebecca "Becky" Ann Eden, age 60, of Wauconda, IL, passed away on September 7, 2026. She was born December 22, 1965 in Chicago, IL to her loving parents, James and Amelia (née Krzak) Eden.
With broken hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Becky. She was truly one of a kind, known for her beautiful spirit, kind heart, creative soul, and remarkable ability to find the good in everyone and every day. Her strength, smile, laughter, and unwavering positivity inspired all who knew and loved her.
A talented artist, Becky found joy in creativity and had a special love for cats and all animals. Her gentle, loving nature seemed to draw animals to her, and their companionship brought her comfort and happiness. Some of her fondest memories came from growing up with her family on a farm in Cary, and she loved sharing stories of those cherished days.
Family meant everything to Becky. She dearly loved her sisters, Liz and Jennifer; her brother, John Eden; and her significant other, Tony Vafiadis, who held a special place in her heart and she loved very much.
She was a loving aunt to Eric Fitzgerald (Katie Ellis), Nicole Fitzgerald (Clint Greve), and Megan Fitzgerald (Matt Goodman). Becky also treasured the younger generations of her family: Charles and Adeline Fitzgerald; Brooklyn and Bentley Greve; Everleigh Schmitt; and Dayton, Xavier, Maverick, and Abel Goodman. Their lives were connected by the love Becky had for them.
Becky appreciated life’s simple pleasures, especially playing bingo and listening to WGN Radio, a familiar comfort in her days. She carried hope into each new day and shared warmth freely with those around her.
Becky’s legacy lives on in the laughter she shared, the artwork she created, the stories she told, and the kindness she showed. It lives in the animals she loved, the farm memories she cherished, the bingo games that brought her joy, and the family who meant the world to her. She reminds us to notice life’s small blessings, make room for creativity and compassion, and keep looking for the good.
Becky was deeply loved, and she always will be. Her bright spirit will remain in the hearts of her family and friends—in every smile, every act of kindness, every cherished memory, and every moment when love finds a way to shine. Rest peacefully, sweet Becky. You will forever be our sister, our family, and a beautiful piece of our hearts.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Becky’s memory may consider a contribution toward final expenses. Checks may be made payable to Becky’s sister, Jennifer Helman, and mailed either directly to Jennifer or in care of the funeral home, which will ensure they are forwarded to her.
