Raymond Francis Gezella

Raymond Francis Gezella, known to friends and family as Ray, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, at the age of 95 in Barrington, IL. Ray was born on July 8, 1928, in Chicago, IL, to Rose and Frank Gezella. He was married to Grace (Konopka) Gezella. He is survived by his brother Fred, son Mike Gezella, Daughter in law Ellen, and granddaughters Megann (Josh Hammes-Murray) and Elizabeth. He is preceded in death by his wife Grace and sister Sylvia.

Ray served two years in the army, in that time he managed to rise to the rank of Staff Sargent. Following this he dedicated over 30 years of his life as a sales manager at Ace Washer and Dryer, where his honest and genuine personality made him a well-loved and respected member of the team. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were only matched by his dedication to his family.

He was a beloved brother, father, and grandfather, whose legacy of love and laughter will be cherished and carried on by his family. Ray's presence was a source of joy and comfort, and his ability to light up a room with his humor and optimism was unparalleled. It was often said that Ray could find the silver lining in any situation, a trait that drew people to him and made him an unforgettable character in many lives.

Ray enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Whether it was a casual backyard barbecue, a Sunday brunch, or cheering on his grandchildren at their various sporting and music events, these moments were the highlights of his days. His positive outlook on life was contagious.

Ray's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the impact one person can have on the lives of many. As we say farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the joy he brought into the world, and the love he shared with each of us.
