Philip J. Stasenka “Uncle Spike” age 74 of Crystal Lake passed away November 8, 2020 at home with his wife by his side. He was born on the southwest side of Chicago on March 7, 1946, the son of the late Theodore F. Stasenka, Sr. and the late Ann (Loner) Stasenka. He graduated in 1964 from De La Salle High School and then drafted in 1965 into the US Army. Phil served his basic training at Ft. Hood, Tx, advanced training as an MP at Ft. Gordon, GA., and also trained at Ft. Ritchie MD with the K-9 Patrol for the Underground Pentagon. He was subsequently discharged from Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C. in 1967. In 1968 he married his childhood sweetheart Lynn (Danek) Stasenka and were married 52 years. In 1969 Phil obtained his Real Estate Brokers License and sold real estate through 2012. Phil and Lynn lived on the southwest side of Chicago and later moved to Crystal Lake. He is survived by his wife Lynn, sister Charlotte (the late Alan) Deibert, nieces Lori (Glenn) McAdam, Nicole (Kyle) Crowley, a nephew Bradley (Theresa) Deibert, great nieces Alexandria McAdam (Jayson Roach), Ashley Crowley, Alana Crowley, Alyssa Crowley and Hadley Deibert, and great nephews Ryan McAdam, Noah McAdam and Elliott Deibert as well as many cousins. He is preceded in death by his infant brother Theodore F. Stasenka, Jr.
In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to St. John Nepomucene Cemetery.
