Patricia S. (Sholder) Dillon

Patricia S. Dillon, age 82 of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully in her home on November 23, 2021.

She was born March 19, 1939 in Philadelphia, the daughter of Joseph Watson and Ethel Pauline Sholder. Patricia graduated from William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Virginia.

In 1978 Pat married the love of her life, Robert E. Dillon. They built a beautiful life together traveling and exploring the United States. She spent close to 20 years working at Harris Bank in Barrington before she enjoyed her retirement.

In her retirement she spent much of her spare time knitting and crocheting blankets, scarfs, and other clothing for homeless and veterans. She also loved attending church.

 In 2010, she became a grandmother for the first time. Pat had a heart of gold and went out of her way to help anyone who needed it. She spent a decade helping to raise her grandchildren. She loved watching them play sports year-round, taking them to parks to release their energy, and playing games on her tablets with her youngest grandson. She was an animal lover taking in a stray cat and donating her time, money, and goods to local animal shelters.

Pat lived a life full of love, laughter, kindness, generosity and selflessness. She will be missed by all, but will forever be in our hearts.

Pat is survived by her son Brian Dillon, her daughter in law Sandy Dillon, her grandchildren Cian and Declan and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert E. Dillon.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name to The Animal House Shelter in Huntley, IL would be appreciated.

Visitation will be held at Kahle Moore funeral home, 403 Silver Lake Rd., Cary, IL 60013 from 3-7pm on Wednesday December 1, 2021 with Christian Science readings at 3:30pm.  There will also be time for anyone to share recollections, memories, or share her story at that time as well.
