Matthew James Adams, age 41, of Stillman Valley, IL, passed away on August 18, 2025. He was born August 22, 1983 in Barrington, IL to his loving parents, James and Stephanie (née Joseph) Adams. Beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Matt will be remembered for his contagious laugh, generous heart, and willingness to drop everything to help those in need.

Matt was married to Kristy (née Koffend) Adams, for 20 years. Together, they raised two incredible daughters, Rylee and Taylor Adams, who were the guiding light of his life and his greatest joy. He later shared his life with Katie (née Mearns) Adams, with whom he was a devoted stepfather to Asher Acevedo, a loving step-uncle to Josephine, Eddie, and Warren Rosko, and a proud dog dad to Bella.

Those who knew Matt knew he went “all in” on everything he loved. Whether hunting, fishing, tending to his chickens, watching NASCAR, playing golf, riding his Harley, or mowing his lawn, Matt embraced life with enthusiasm. His time outdoors was marked by his signature sunglasses and unmistakable tan lines.

Matt is survived by his loving parents, James and Stephanie Adams; his brother, Joshua Adams; his sister, Samantha (Matthew) DuBois; and his beloved nephew, Leo DuBois. He is also remembered with love by his aunts and uncles, Karen (Steve) Adams, Linda (John) Tomlinson, Debbie (Chris) Williams, and Michael (Charlene) Joseph; and his cousins, Daniel (Gianna) Adams, Bryan Adams, Kevin (Kelsey) Adams, Kippe (Christy) Detty, Alex (Jon) Roberts, Kelley Joseph, and Aimee Coomer, who grew up alongside him and shared countless memories.

He was greeted in Heaven by his loving uncle, Steve Adams; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Geraine Joseph; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Lois Adams; his aunts, Jackie Hinkle and Teresa (Pat) Harrell; along with many other loved ones who went before him.

Matt’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and wholehearted living. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be 2:00pm until funeral service at 6:30pm, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary, IL 60013. Ken Giacone will be officiating.

Interment will be private.
