Mary Ellen (Flanagan) Staff

Mary Staff passed away peacefully in her home January 29th, 2022.

She was born on October 21st, 1927 in Greenwich CT. She moved to Pompano Beach FL with her husband, Louis Staff in 1950 and resided there for 45 years. They had a son, Michael and a daughter Michelle. They then moved to Northern FL and resided in Carrabelle, FL for over 20 years.

Mary spent the last 3 years of her life in Cary, IL with her daughter.

Mary was a fun loving, kind and generous person who was loved by many.

Her most endearing traits were her quick wit and spunky attitude.

She loved tennis, watching football, walking on the beach and spending time with loved ones.

She touched many lives with her thoughtfulness and generosity. She always had a kind word and compliment for everyone she met.

She was dedicated to helping others and spent most of her life volunteering in the community.

She spent her time at Meals on Wheels, worked as a Eucharistic Minister where she administered Communion to the elderly in nursing homes. She also read books to children at the library and volunteered at the local animal shelter and her favorite, the thrift store.

She was a blessing to all that knew her and touched many lives with her strong faith and determination.

She will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by her daughter Michelle, granddaughter Mary and great grandson Vladimir.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 5, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church in Carrabelle, FL
