On December 14, 2024, Mary Helen (Reed) Price of Mount Prospect died at age 84. Mary passed peacefully from natural causes in her residence in Wauconda, IL, surrounded by loved ones. Through life’s many ups and downs, Mary persevered while maintaining her personality and wit. Mary’s love, honesty, and sense of humor were evident to those around her, even to her final days. 

Mary was born on January 26, 1940 in Elmwood Park, IL and graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Helen Reed, and her brother, Robert Reed.

Mary went on to marry Thomas Price Sr., and moved to Mt. Prospect where they raised their two children.  Mary delighted in being a supportive wife, mother, homemaker, and friend and enjoyed playing tennis, painting, and bowling. Even more so she enjoyed spending time chatting and shopping with friends and family. Later in life, she spent time watching game shows, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, and being with her 5 grandchildren. A love of ice cream and pride in her fashion and appearance maintained throughout her life. 

Mary is survived by her two children, Thomas (Mary) and Suzanne, her five grandchildren and her ex-husband Thomas Sr.. 

A memorial service will be held on January 18, 2025 from 10am-12pm at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home in Cary, IL.
