Marvin Vincent Jedicker, aged 93, a long-time resident of Fox River Grove, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2025.  
Marvin was born in Chicago on January 4, 1932 to Vincent and Elenor (Luebbing) Jedicker.  He graduated from Carl Schurz High School in 1950.

In 1952, Marvin began his apprenticeship to become a Tool and Die Maker.  He married Elizabeth Thompson on May 24, 1952.  Their marriage lasted almost 67 years, until Elizabeth’s death in 2018.  Within weeks of his marriage, Marvin was called up for duty in the US Army.  He was stationed in Okinawa for two years.  Upon his return from service, he resumed his apprenticeship

Marvin's was a longtime member of the barbershop chorus in Elgin and also was part of a quartet named Yesterday’s Boys.

He was also a devoted member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.  For many years, Marvin shared his faith by distributing candy canes with the gospel message while portraying Santa Claus.

Marvin had been both commander and chaplain of the American Legion Frank H Nagel Jr Post 119.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.  He is survived by his daughters Wendelynn (the late John) Maulding and Kimberlee (the late Robert) Snedaker, his granddaughters Jennifer (Aldo) Alcaraz and Melissa (Thomas) Cristel, and great-granddaughters Kaylee and Ashlynn. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Geraldine (the late Clarence William) Brocar.

Services for Marvin will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2107 Three Oaks Road, Cary, IL.  Visitation will be Friday, April 4, from 3-7 PM and Saturday, April 5, from 9:30-10:30 AM.  The service will be held Saturday, April 5 at 10:30 AM followed by a time of fellowship.  Intermittent will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.  Arrangements handled by Kahle-Moore Funeral Home.
