Mark Peterson, a cherished husband, father, and brother, passed away at the age of 59 on May 9, 2024 due to complications of a lengthy battle with cancer which was fought with grace and determination. Born on March 23, 1965, in Elgin, IL, Mark's life was a testament to the power of love, courage, and dedication.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Amy, and their two sons, Ryan and Tyler, who were the center of his world. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Donna Peterson, and is preceded in death by his dear parents, Glen and Mary Peterson.
After completing his business degree in Transportation Logistics, Mark embarked on a fulfilling career in the transportation industry, where his dedication and work ethics were well-regarded by his colleagues.
Mark loved to play golf, finding peace and camaraderie on the green. Similarly, the sport of pickleball brought him joy and vitality, allowing him to stay active and engaged with a community of fellow enthusiasts. He lived life to its fullest in spite of his continued chemotherapy treatments.
Throughout his life, Mark's actions spoke of his deep commitment to his family. A devoted father, Mark’s greatest pride was his two sons, Ryan and Tyler. Whether coaching his sons' sports teams or enjoying time at the lake, he consistently showed his love through his unwavering support and guidance.
As we bid farewell to Mark, his legacy is one of enduring love and the unwavering courage that comes from a life well-lived. His life was a beautiful journey that, although cut short, was rich in experiences and relationships that will forever be honored and remembered.
