Marie C. Pesek, age 85, of Cary, IL, passed away on May 15, 2026. She was born October 29, 1940 in Chicago, IL to her loving parents, Charles and Lillian (née Chmlek) Shramek.

Marie graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School, Class of 1958, and continued her education at Mt. Sinai Nursing School, graduating in 1961. Marie went on to dedicate an incredible 53 years of her life to the nursing profession, caring for countless patients with kindness, skill, and a gentle heart. Nursing was more than a career to her—it was a calling, and she touched the lives of many through her unwavering dedication and compassion.

A faithful member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Marie’s faith was at the center of her life. She was deeply devoted to her church community and served for many years as both a leader and volunteer, generously giving her time, guidance, and support to others. Her warmth, generosity, and steadfast faith made a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Marie was well loved by her family and many friends, who will forever remember her caring spirit, quiet strength, and the love she shared so freely. She leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those blessed to know her.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Pesek. She is survived by her seven children, Christine Pesek, Patricia (Warren) Fischer, James Pesek, Michael Pesek, Victoria (Kevin) Hartwig, Robert (Hope) Pesek, and Timothy Pesek; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, May 21, 2026, and 9:00 am to 10:00 am, Friday, May 22, 2026, at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary, IL 60013.

Mass will be at 10:30am at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 410 N. First Street, Cary, IL 60013.

Interment to follow at Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Road, Cary, IL 60013.
