Mari Riess, 99 passed away peacefully on January 14, 2023. She was born in Yugoslavia to Frank and Magdalena
Unterreiner.
She is preceded in death by her husband Mathias Riess, her brothers Philip Unterreiner, Frank Unterreiner, and sister Anna.
Mari is survived by her 4 children Mathias Riess Jr. (Diane), Rosemary Webster (Leon), Susan Osterhaus (James),
Frank Riess (Colleen), and a brother Joseph Unterreiner. Mari has 9 grandchildren, Michael, Thomes, Dawn, Susan, Robert,
Thomas, Matthew, John, and Ashley. She also has 18 great grandchildren, Anna, Joseph, Jonathan, Katherine, Emily, Chloe,
Mathias, Dana, Brandon, Thomas, Woody, Grace, Andrew, Mari, Felix, Clayton, Lila, and Rowan.
Mari was passionate about her family. She loved her family gatherings and large Sunday family meals. She was also very
passionate about gardening. She had a huge garden that she spent much of her time in, what a green thumb she had. She
loved to crochet and knit, she made blankets for each of the grandchildren. She loved babysitting for her grandchildren.
She worked at Seaquest and Jewel Tea.
