Margaret "Peggy" Andrews Obituary

Margaret A. Andrews, age 89 of Cary, was welcomed into eternal life on January 18, 2024, surrounded by many of her loving family. Peggy was born in Chicago to the late Edward and Margaret (Eivers) Duffy. She was always proud of her Irish heritage. In 1955, Peggy married the love of her life, Bob Andrews, and they soon settled in Cary, a beautiful place to raise a family.

Peggy leaves behind a true legacy of love. She devoted herself to her husband and raising her four children, which she considered the greatest accomplishment of her life. Peggy thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She brought so much fun and joy to all of our lives.

Daily Mass and service to the Church was a priority for Peggy. Some of her ministries included teaching CCD, participating in Cursillo and Bible Study, working at PADS, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and funeral luncheons.

Peggy’s strong faith and love for God anchored and guided her throughout her entire life. She was a powerful witness of God’s love to all she encountered; somehow Peggy always made everyone feel deeply loved and special. Her deepest hope was that all people would know that “no matter how far you might stray from God, He will always forgive you because He will always love you.”

Peggy will be tremendously missed, yet her love and wisdom will always remain a very important part of our hearts.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Bob; son Mark; brother Pat (Lois); sister Ann (Tom); brother-in-law Herb; and sister-in-law Pat. She is survived by three children: Theresa (Mike) Polyack; Eileen (Deacon Chuck) Agnew; Mary (Richard) Ring; daughter-in-law Bea Andrews; grandchildren Kathryn, Elizabeth, Dan, Andrew, Mary, Annie, Spencer, John, Caitlin, Becca, Rachel, Tim, Maggie, and Katie; sixteen great grandchildren and two more precious ones on their way; siblings in-law: Jack (Marilyn); Mary (Jim); and Margie; and many special extended family members and dear friends.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, January 22, at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, Cary. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, at Saints Peter and Paul, Cary. Masses or memorial gifts to St. Vincent DePaul Society or Catholic Charities are appreciated.
