Linda Curran Obituary

With great sorrow, the children of Linda Curran announce the passing of our kind, caring and selfless mother.
Linda Curran (nee Reulman), 90, of Trout Valley, IL, passed away at home on March 10, 2023.
Linda’s passion was her family - raising 6 children was more than a full-time job.  She never coddled, but through her unconditional love, encouraged each of her children to be their best selves.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted friend to many.
Linda loved golf and passed that love onto many of her children and grandchildren – resulting in endless visits by them to her home in Indian Wells, CA for a round of golf or just a visit with mom/grandma. She was notorious for being speedy in her golf cart and for indulging in a glass of Pinot Grigio most evenings. You could always count on Linda to have a cabinet stocked with red licorice, her late husband’s favorite candy, which became one way the family honored his memory after he passed 23 years ago. Linda was entertained by her grandchildren constantly seeking the title of “grandma’s favorite”, but never giving in as it was obvious her love for each was unique. One year for Christmas, she sent each of the fourteen grandchildren the same card that read ‘You’re My Favorite’. It wasn’t long before everyone connected the dots that they had all received the same card.
Linda was born on January 4, 1933 to Norman and Katherine Reulman in Rochester, NY and moved as a toddler to Elmhurst, IL where she spent her childhood and young adult life. She graduated from York High School and William Woods College. Her loving husband, Jack Curran, was a family friend in Elmhurst.  They began dating in 1951, married in 1953 and started their family in Elmhurst before relocating to Trout Valley in 1964.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Katherine Reulman, her sisters, Lois Leyden and Mary Ann Apel, her infant grandson Michael, and her loving husband, John (“Jack”) Curran. She is survived by her six children, Tim (Carol) Curran, Cathy Curran, Mike (Kara) Curran, Sue (Mike) Rushmore, Cindy (Mark) DeTrempe, and Patti (John) Poth, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly.
A private funeral mass will be held for family. Interment of Linda’s ashes will be at Windridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
