Lee Carol Frisch (Leatrice Carolyn Frisch), 82 of Cary, IL passed away peacefully on July 29th, 2023, after a lightning fast battle with cancer. She was visited by, and talked to her loving friends and family in the two weeks of medical care she received.
Lee was born at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, IL on September 3rd, 1940 to Reuben and Eleanor (Schulz) Skanse. Lee moved with her family to Cary during her freshman year, attending Crystal Lake High School. She worked at Rynees Restaurant, where she met her future husband. She Attended Concordia College in Minnesota and received her teaching degree; teaching in Fox River Grove for one year before retiring to start a family.
Lee eloped with her love, Jim W. Frisch, a WWII veteran, on September 23, 1961. They were married 41 years until his death in 2002. Since 1980, Lee has been an advocate for good health and clean living with her Shaklee business and has volunteered her time at the Cary Food Bank and the VFW in Woodstock.
Lee is survived by her children and grandchildren: Son James W. Frisch, his daughter Miu Frisch; Daughter Leanne (Frisch) and James Anderson and their three children Jamie, Marlee and Trinity Anderson.
She is also survived by her brothers Rob Skanse and his wife Gwen Skanse and Tom Hoffman and his wife LuAnn Hoffman.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister JoEllyn Keeger (Skanse), and brother Michael Skanse.
Lee’s ashes will be laid to rest at a private ceremony in the Cary Cemetery. There will be a celebration of her life on September 3, 2023, her birthday. Details to come.
