Kyle Evan Bernett, 33, passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2024, at his home in Fox River Grove, IL. Born May 31, 1990, Kyle was the cherished son of Kathleen Hofer Bernett, of Fox River Grove, IL and Terry Bernett of Des Plaines, IL. 
           He leaves his parents behind, along with his brother and best friend Tim Bernett (Brie Thomas), his loving sister Kaitlyn Bernett, and niece and nephew Joanna and Daniel Syrotiouk, whom he adored, his stepmom Carolyn Bernett, stepsiblings Ryan (Ashley) Donovan and Lindsay (Lucy) Donovan, many aunts, uncles and cousins, his dear friends Matt, Ike, Oak, and Brian (Pious Piper) among many others, and his cats Bubo and Noodles.
         Kyle was an old soul and non-conformist who was determined to live life on his own terms. He rejected the trappings of material wealth and challenged others to look beyond superficial appearances. Those who did discovered the Kyle we knew and loved. He had empathy and respect for others. He was a creative musician and was skilled in electronics design and repair. Like his grandfathers, Kyle had a talent for repairing anything. He enjoyed hot, spicy foods and was always willing to take on a fiery challenge. He was an avid pipe and cigar aficionado who enjoyed the friendship and camaraderie of the Speak Easy Club community, where he was known as bingus. He loved animals and rescued many. 
       Kyle delighted us with his humor and outgoing personality. He made us laugh. He was the life of every party—even the ones to which he wasn’t invited. He will be deeply missed. 
Kyle will be laid to rest privately. The hole in our hearts will never heal, but Kyle would not want us to cry. He would want us to go on laughing, and in his honor, we will. A celebration of his life is being planned for a later date.
