Born on October 31, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, Keith James Bonnes brought light and joy to the world from the very start. The son of Fred and Zofja Bonnes, Keith’s early years were spent in Cary, Illinois, where the family moved soon after his birth.
Keith graduated from Cary-Grove High School in 1979, where he was a proud member of the varsity football team. His love of learning and drive for success took him to Columbia University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business.
On November 3, 1984, Keith married the love of his life, Dawn Thomas, in St. Charles, Illinois. Together, they built a life full of love and laughter, raising two children, Matthew, born in 1987, and Brittany, born in 1989.
Keith dedicated 25 years of his career to Seaquist Perfect Dispensing, which later became Aptar. Starting as a mechanic, his exceptional work ethic and leadership skills propelled him to Director of Operations and ultimately Director of Continuous Improvement. His career afforded him the opportunity to travel extensively, a testament to his expertise and dedication.
A man of many passions, Keith was a Corvette enthusiast with a deep love for the open road. He cherished every moment behind the wheel, from driving the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway track to collecting trophies at car shows.
Keith’s love for sports was legendary. As a devoted fan of the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and Chicago Blackhawks, he never missed a chance to cheer on his teams.
In addition to his passions, Keith had a gift for bringing people together through food. An accomplished chef, his culinary creations and warm hospitality created countless memories for family and friends.
Keith passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, surrounded by love.
He is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Zofja Bonnes; his brother, Jeff Bonnes; and his father-in-law, Ronald Thomas. He leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his wife of 40 years, Dawn Bonnes; his daughter, Brittany Bonnes Randazzo, and son-in-law, Anthony Randazzo; his son, Matthew Bonnes; and his beloved grandchildren, Hannah, Sophia and William Bonnes. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Carolyn Thomas, along with many cherished friends and extended family.
A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the incredible man he was.
Keith warmth, humor and passion for life will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew him.
