Judith Ann Thatcher-Oldberg Obituary
Judith Ann Thatcher-Oldberg, age 77, of Cary, IL, peacefully passed away in her sleep on March 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 11, 1949 in Oak Park, IL to her loving parents, Wilbur and Alyce (née Barrer) Siebold, the younger sister to her beloved brother, Dennis Siebold.
Judy attended the University of Missouri Columbia (Mizzou) and studied physical therapy. Upon graduation, Judy worked as a physical therapist at Lutheran General Hospital before moving over to Sherman Family Health Care where she continued an illustrious career spanning over 40 years.
Judy was known for her magnetic personality and warm spirit. Her smile lit up every room she entered, and she definitely never met a stranger. “Friend to everyone, enemy to no one” is how those that knew and loved her would describe her.
In her free time, Judy loved spending time with family and friends. She adored her home in Door County, WI, where her family had spent many years vacationing. She was an active member of both a book club and a bridge club. She also loved to perform and appeared in several musicals, including The Sound of Music and The Music Man. In earlier years, she spent time riding and competing on horseback with her daughter.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Craig Thatcher; nephew, John Thatcher; and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her daughter, Lyndsy (Michael) Baugus; husband, Carl Oldberg; his children, Lizzie (Jordan) Hammer, Katie (Andrew) Salak, and Morgan (Aubrey Malito) Waters; brother, Dennis Siebold; four grandchildren, Raegan Baugus, Erin Baugus, Benjamin Hammer, and Jane Hammer; and five great-grandchildren, Joseph, Nick, and Weston Regan, and Colt and Case Campbell. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Brian (Rita) Thatcher and their son, Paul; and her nieces and nephews and their families: Lisa (Frank) DiBenedetto and their children, Brendon, Alec, Maddi, and Austin; Geoff (Stephanie) Siebold and their children, Hannah, Lyric, and Lark; Christopher Siebold and his son, Julian; and Bryan (Stephanie) Siebold.
