Juan Monjaraz, age 76, of Cary, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at good Shepherd Hospital with his loving wife holding his hand and his children by his side.
He was Born on March 13, 1945 in Paras, Nuevo León in Mexico as the son of Manuel Monjaraz and Maria Perez.
Juan is survived by his wife of 54 years Zulema Monjaraz, his children Manuel Monjaraz, Ana Torres, Zulma Wilson, and Yolanda Hilligoss, his son-in-law‘s Mingo Torres and Jake Wilson, his grandchildren Veronica Torres, Victor Torres, Matthew Hilligoss and Scott Wilson, and his great grandchildren Ava Avitia-Torres and Isabella Miller.
As a young man he was a machinist and tool and die maker. He was an avid reader and forever student. He also enjoyed other things in life such as working out, going on long walks, and road trips even if it was for an ice cream cone in Lake Geneva or going to Rosati‘s in Marengo.
As a devoted family man, Juan taught his children strength through discipline, love through protection and perseverance through drive.
He will be greatly missed by the ones who loved him. By marching to the beat of his own drummer the impact he made on others lives will continue on for generations to come.
There will be a visitation for Juan on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road in Cary. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 23 2021 at Saint Peter and Paul Church in Cary, followed by burial at St. John Nepomucene Cemetery in Barrington.
