It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Great-Great-Grandfather, and friend.
JOSEPH ANTHONY SAVONE, age 93 of Fox River Grove, IL. He passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, in his home. He was born July 10, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois to Jennie and Nazzario Savone. Joe Savone served his country as a veteran of the Navy and the National Guard. Joseph retired as a site planner for medical equipment.
Joseph was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and remained a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Las Cruces, New Mexico. While residing in California and Nevada, Joseph was active with his church choir and serving as a lector. Joseph remained a faithful Member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church of Las Cruces New Mexico.
Those left to mourn his passing include his adult children; two daughters, Shellye A. Pechulis of Chicago, IL, Roberta J. Roache of Marshfield, MO; two sons, Joseph A. Savone Jr. (Toni) of Indianapolis, IN, and David A. Savone (Cindy) of Fox River Grove, IL. Other survivors include six grandchildren: twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 64 years Phyllis Savone, his brother Anthony J. Savone and his sister Connie Romano.
Cremation will take place with private services and interment alongside his wife and parents at Queen of Heaven’s Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
