John Olekszy, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on June 20, 1942, in Poland, John's life was a mix of hard work, creativity, and love for his family. John leaves behind his beloved wife Jean (Schultz), his loving children, Jim, Joe, Denise (Mike) Chrisman, and Jon (Lisa), and his caring sister, Teresa (Mike) Smolic. Grandchildren, Kaylyn (Chris)Bell, Matthew, Justin, Carter and Noah, great grandchildren, Christopher, Kolton, Zoryana, and Levi. Nephews John (Janet) Smolic, Rick Smolic, niece Linda Smolic and many loving great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. John was predeceased by his mother Emilia, father Jan, brother Stanley, and granddaughter, Samantha.

John's journey brought him from the landscapes of Poland to the heart of his family, where he established a life of dedication and warmth. As a truck driver and a self-proclaimed jack of all trades, John's work ethic was unparalleled. His days behind the wheel were matched by the hours he spent pouring his heart into various projects, whether it was inventing, fishing, or simply tinkering with things in his workshop or garden.

An amateur inventor at heart, John's imagination knew no bounds. His hands were rarely still, always working on a new contraption or fixing something around the house. His fishing trips with his buddies were always the highlights of his year. 

Above all, John was a kind friend and great neighbor, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. His generous nature was evident in every interaction, and his presence enriched the lives of those around him.

John's family will forever remember his boundless curiosity, his “dad humor”, and the twinkle in his eye when he spoke of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and in the many lives he touched with his kindness and ingenuity. John Olekszy's story is one of a life well-lived and well-loved, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
