John T. Dolecki, age 48, of Wheeling, IL, passed away on June 6, 2025. He was born November 21, 1976 in Arlington Heights, IL to his loving parents, John Duff and Theresa (née Dolecki) Gettes.

John graduated from Step High School, Class of 1995. He worked in tool and die at C&J Metal Products for 30 years.

John had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, race cars, fishing and hunting, and snowmobiles.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Duff; uncle, Steven Dolecki; and best friend, Michael Ishkanian. He is survived by his children, Katherine (Mark) Ruttenberg and Austin Dolecki; mother, Theresa Gettes; siblings, Dawn Chiodo, Joshua Gettes, and Jennifer Gettes; grandchildren, Mackenzie Hernandez, Mark Ruttenberg Jr., Ethan Hernandez, and Jaxson Dolecki; uncles, Henry Dolecki and Jim (Jennie) Dolecki; aunt, Christine Dolecki; cousins, Corey, Allison, Casey, Chelsea, and Liam; nephews, Collin, Jeremiah, and Isaiah; and niece, Lea.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Fox River Grove.  Please contact the family for details.

Interment will be private.
