Joann (DeClark; Hodgson) Lachman

Joann Lachman, a resident of the Cary community for the majority of her life, passed away on August 13, 2023, at Three Oaks Assisted Living in Cary. Joann was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 14, 1928, and was the only child of Cyril and Anna (Rajala-Vercanteren) DeClark. She was also predeceased by her loving husband, Theodore John Lachman and the father of her children, Leonard Hodgson.

Joann is survived by her sons, Robert Clark Hodgson (Donna) and Thomas Leonard Hodgson (Barb), and her daughters, Janet Lynn Rose (Doug) and Carol Ann Wrath (Jack).

She is further survived by her grandchildren: Teresa Timpe (Craig), Cy Hodgson (Cari), Tyrel Hodgson (Alexandra), Jason Hodgson, Jake Hodgson (Heather), Lenny Carnie, Bill Wrath (Emily) and Amy Wrath Cornwall (Rickey).

She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to:  Justen Timpe (Jessica), Jordan Timpe Rieke (Cole), Jacob Timpe, Connor and Rhys Hodgson, Dakota Hodgson, Zack and Halle Hodgson, Sophia and Dylan Carnie, Jackson and Joey Wrath, and Logan and Cooper Cornwall.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Three Oaks Assisted Living.

Interment of Joann’s ashes will be at the Cary Cemetery and will be private.
