Jack M. Danley, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, in Crystal Lake, Illinois, at the age of 94. Born on May 11, 1930, in Huron, South Dakota, Jack's life was marked by his enduring commitment to his family, his passion for the outdoors, and a remarkable career that touched many.
Jack's formative years in Huron were filled with the simple pleasures of small-town life, setting the stage for the man he would become. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the US Army, an experience that instilled in him values of discipline and service that he carried throughout his life.
Following his military service, Jack began a long and dedicated career with Quaker Oats, where he was known for his steadfast work ethic and amiable nature. For 39 years, he was not only a dependable employee but also a friend to many, creating lasting bonds with his coworkers and becoming a respected member of the Quaker Oats community.
At home, Jack was the loving husband to JoAnne Wallis Danley, a partnership that was the cornerstone of his life. Jack raised four sons, Michael (Katherine), Timothy (Bonnie), William (Jackie), and John (Wendy), in a household filled with love, laughter, and the values of hard work and integrity. Jack's role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and his guidance and wisdom have left an indelible mark on his family. JoAnne has four children which Jack became their loving stepfather, Lynda, Edward (Jane), Tracey and Gregory.
Jack will now join his first wife Helen Jean Danley.
In addition, Jack is survived by 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren with an additional great-grandchild on the way.
Thomas, Amanda (Nick), Jared, Mitchell, Clara, Caleb, Wyatt, Jessica, Tyler, Willow, David, Michael, Keenan, Max, Rachel and Mason. Great-grandchildren Luca and Liam.
An avid fisherman, Jack found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. His love for fishing was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his appreciation for life's simple moments and the beauty of the world around him. Many will remember Jack for the tales of his fishing adventures and the serene contentment he found at the water's edge.
Jack's legacy is one of unwavering kindness, a strong sense of duty, and an immeasurable love for his family. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, yet his spirit will continue to inspire and guide his loved ones.
As we bid farewell to Jack M. Danley, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by devotion, joy, and the quiet strength of a man who made an impact in the most humble and genuine ways. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
There will be a visitation for Jack on Saturday, October 12, 2024 beginning at 2:00 PM and concluding with a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home.
