Iris Palmer Obituary

Iris Ethyl Palmer (nee Glazebrook), age 93, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020 peacefully at home.

Iris is preceded in death by her husband Derek, sister Joyce, and brothers Teddy and Dennis. Iris is survived by her daughters Sue (Mark) Bartlett and Nancy (John) Gonsiorek. Iris is also survived by her five grandchildren; Emily, Jimmy, Katie, Matthew, and Joey.

Iris came to Chicago through Ellis Island from England after the end of the Second Great War. In Chicago, Iris and Derek started their life together. They eventually lived on Diamond Lake in Mundelein. Here, they enjoyed the lake life with their family and friends.

Upon semi-retiring, Iris and Derek bought a resort on Table Rock Lake in The Ozarks. After seven years of owning and running the resort, Iris and Derek retired to Crystal Lake, IL, and spent their winters in St. Pete Beach, FL.
