“On Friday, March 11th, 2022, George Rinda, loving husband and father of two children, passed away from esophageal cancer at age 64. George was born on September 15th, 1957 in Waukegan, Illinois to George and Irene (Tarutis) Rinda. He married Cynthia Clare Sargent on September 1st, 1991.
Whether at work or in his family life, George was the one people went to when they needed answers. He was trusted and relied on by many, especially by his clients and co-workers at South Side Control Supply where he worked for 38 years. He was a problem solver and a source of both wisdom and comfort for those around him. He was somebody who was willing to sacrifice himself for the people he cared about. He worked hard during the week, and on the weekends enjoyed nothing more than a long conversation over a few beers with his wife or his sons. George loved music, even if his wife disliked his habit of playing the same Prog Rock songs on repeat every weekend. In his childhood, George's fondest memories were made at his family lake in Northwestern Minnesota. Luckily, he was able to make one last trip to his favorite place in 2017 in celebration of his 60th birthday. He was greeted warmly by family, ate a lot of fish and had a wonderful time. When he was a young man, he was always involved in a new project or hobby. He was quick to find new passions in life. As he got older and his health became worse, he focused on sharing his knowledge with his two sons, Michael and Ryan. Whether it was tying on a fishing lure, building a deck, fixing a furnace, or making a resume, George was always eager to show you the right way of doing things.
George loved his little brother Gordon and often spoke proudly of his achievements. He loved and dearly missed his parents, especially his late mother Irene. Most of all, he loved his wife Cindy, the love of his life, his rock, and his caretaker in his final days. Before he passed, they celebrated 30 love filled years together. George was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, his brother and his two children. He left us too soon and will be very dearly missed.”
There will be a visitation for George on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, beginning at 4:00 PM and concluding with a Funeral Service at 7:00 PM. Visit kahlemoore.com to express condolences
