Eugene Brown, Jr. Obituary

Eugene (Gene) Allen Brown Jr. age 65 of Fox River Grove, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in his home Monday, January 8, 2024.  Now at peace from his long battle with health issues, he will forever be celebrated for his incredible strength and fortitude in a life both well lived and well loved.
Born to Nancy Milligan Brown and Eugene Allen Brown Sr. on June 1, 1958 in Fort Monmouth, NJ, he and his loving wife Lori Anne Brown (Groves) have made Fox River Grove their home for the past 31 years raising both their daughter Hannah Gabrielle (34) and son Eugene Allen III (AJ)(28).  Preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, he is survived by his wife Lori, his children Hannah and AJ, his parents Eugene and Nancy Brown, his sister Renee (Roy) McNitt along with many brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
Married for 37 years to the love of his life Lori, he was an outdoorsman who could be seen boating or snowmobiling down the Fox River, casting his fishing pole in remote Canadian outposts and watching with pride as son AJ flew into the air at the Norge Ski Jump and other ski jumping venues across the globe.  His was a life full of adventure and love, family and friends.
A company executive and a business graduate of Valparaiso University and Valley Forge Military Academy, Gene served as both vice president and general manager of the family owned Micro Parts and Supplies, Inc. in Cary, IL and vice president of Sytec America Inc., Cary, IL.  Both businesses flourished under Gene’s direction and his career accomplishments were matched only by his dedication to God and community.
As a man of faith, he was an active member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cary, IL for over 40 years serving as an Elder, Trustee and Sunday School Teacher.  Gene was also a dedicated member of the Norge Ski Club of Fox River Grove, IL serving on the Board in different positions such as past President, Recording Secretary, Chief of Competitions and Trustee. His faith and humility led him to give his time freely to those in need.
