Effie “Babe” June Krock, age 92, of Cary, IL, passed away peacefully, after a long battle with Alzheimers, on August 7, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born September 14, 1932 in Chicago, IL to her loving parents, Richard and Effie (Sengenberger) Ramig.
Effie was married to the love of her life, Ronald Krock, on May 23, 1980. Their devoted marriage lasted until Ronald’s passing in 2002. Together, they made their home in Cary—a house that became a special place where countless family gatherings, celebrations, and heartfelt memories were made. That home was a symbol of love, comfort, and togetherness for all who had the joy of visiting.
Above all, Effie was the heart of her family — a source of unconditional love, unwavering support, and strength. She led with compassion, listened without judgment, and gave selflessly, always placing the needs of others before her own.
A fiercely independent and resilient woman, Effie faced life with bravery and grace, never wavering in her values or her devotion to her family. Her strength was steady and her love unshakable — a true example for all who knew her.
She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially when surrounded by loved ones. She was an incredible cook, and her meals became the centerpiece of countless family gatherings and celebrations. Some that come to mind was her famous pot roast, homemade stuffing, strawberry rhubarb pie and lamb cakes, just to name a few. She also had a playful spirit, and many of us will remember the fun and challenge of playing Scrabble with her, and watching her play Mahjong on her computer. She enjoyed bowling and knitting, and loved going to garage sales with her husband, Ron.
Some of her family’s most cherished memories were made during vacations to Indiana Beach, where her laughter, warmth, and love made every trip even more special. Whether near or far, she brought a sense of home wherever she went.
Effie leaves behind not only memories filled with laughter, kindness, and care — but also a profound example of how to live with courage, love deeply, and remain strong in the face of life’s trials.
