Donald Edward Ridgway, a long-term resident of Cary, IL, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born on September 22, 1938 in Dayton, OH to his loving parents, Edward and Winifred (née Clark) Ridgway, and was married to his beloved wife, Mary Lou, on December 29, 1967.

Don proudly served in the United States Navy.  He was retired from the Motorola company for whom he worked many years in both Florida and Illinois.

Don was an avid golfer. He loved gardening, sports, and had a passion for movies and music.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Winifred Ridgway. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou (née Waters) Ridgway, to whom he was married for 57 years. He is also survived by his wife’s loving family and the many friends whose lives he touched and who will cherish his memory.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Don’s name to Wounded Warriors, Disabled American Vets, or any military-related charity.
