Dennis Lee Turskey

Dennis L. Turskey, age 79 of Cary passed away February 20, 2021.  He was born April 27, 1941 in Cary, the son of Joseph and Esther (Lowe) Turskey.

Dennis was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served honorably in the Army from November 21, 1963 to November 19, 1965. For his service, he earned the rankings of Corporal, Staff Sergeant, and Specialist. In addition, he earned an Expert Rifle M-1, Expert Rifle M-14 and Vietnam Service Medals.

After serving in Vietnam, Dennis returned to his hometown of Cary. Shortly after, he met and fell for Virginia who he married July 15th, 1967 in West Dundee.

Dennis worked for 33 years for Commonwealth Edison out of Crystal Lake. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating on the Fox River, woodworking and drawing. He cherished his family and loved the family trips to Florida.

Dennis is survived by his wife Virginia (Trochim) Turskey, his sons: Brian (Joan) Turskey, Brett (Dana) Turskey and Brad (Sonja) Turskey, his grandchildren: Grace Turskey, Joshua Turskey, Nicholas Turskey, Natalie Turskey, Katelyn Turskey, Kelsy Turskey and Julia Turskey as well as his siblings: David (Sharon) Turskey, Donald (Susie) Turskey and Barbara (Tony) Tabor. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Esther Turskey and his daughter Jill Ann Turskey.

Services for Dennis will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2107 Three Oaks Rd., in Cary on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by church service at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Windridge Memorial Park where military honors will be accorded at 11:45am.
