David Edward LaBuda, age 59, of Cary, IL, passed away on June 3, 2025. He was born September 22, 1965 in Chicago, IL to his loving parents, Edward and Carol (née Preusser) LaBuda, and grew up in Cary, IL.

David graduated from Cary-Grove High School, Class of 1983. He earned his master’s degree at DePaul University, and worked as a satellite computer engineer. He and his wife, Lisa, were wed in September, 1995, and married almost 30 years. Together they raised four children.

David was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished friend. He had a deep love for his family, friends, and the pets who were part of his life. Family road trips were a source of joy and adventure, as he delighted in discovering new places and making lifelong memories with his loved ones. At home, he found comfort in the familiar—watching classic spaghetti westerns, enjoying foreign soap operas, and reminiscing over his childhood favorites like Gumby and Pokey.

In his younger years, David practiced martial arts, a reflection of his discipline and quiet strength. During the holidays, he and his wife would spend time together setting up intricate village scenes—one of his many creative joys. He also had a signature sense of style: often seen in his favorite plaid shirts and jeans, a look that was as genuine and down-to-earth as he was.

David’s presence filled the room with warmth, and his love for life and family was evident in everything he did. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

David is survived by his wife, Lisa LaBuda; children, Emilie, Rebecca, Robert, and Laura; sister, Barbara LaBuda; and several cousins.

Interment will be private.
