Darlene Carol (Brzeczek) Hallsten

Darlene was born December 9, 1948 and went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, December 11, 2021.  Her family is deeply saddened by the loss of their matriarch who meant so much and touched so many people’s lives.

After graduating from Steinmetz High School in Chicago, IL, Darlene got a job at Revere Ware.  In 1968, she married her high school sweetheart Donald Hallsten who remained her faithful loving companion until her death. Darlene also worked at Jewel-Osco and Caremark for some time, but primarily tended to her loving family.  Darlene’s home was where the extended family gathered.  Darlene was a gracious and generous host who truly loved family gatherings. Darlene enjoyed maintaining a personal conservatory as her backyard and would personally train her golden retrievers who were her loyal companions.

Darlene will be remembered as an unrelenting mother and beautiful soul.  She leaves behind her two sons, Donald R. Hallsten, Jr. and David R. Hallsten, her loving daughter-in-law Tara Hallsten and two grandchildren (Sydney and Ryan), sister Dorothy Hintze (nee Brzeczek) and brother-in-law Ronald Hintze, and her brother and sister-in-law Gerald Hallsten and Valerie Hallsten (nee Bolling) and a host of loving family and friends.

She joins her parents Eugene Brzeczek and Emily Brzeczek (nee Kaczmarek); and her brother, Donald Brzeczek. 

Darlene’s family and friends will miss her love, laughter, and generosity.
