Clara Louise Detloff Obituary

Clara L Detloff, age 89 of Barrington, passed away on August 5, 2021. She was born February 24, 1933 in Canada, the daughter of Frank and Mary Guerriero. 


Clara is survived by her children: Jerry (Eva) and Peter; her daughter in law Katie; her grandchildren: Jeffrey, Brian (Sarah), Sara, Michael (Melanie), Timothy (Kayla) and Kyle (Heather); her great grandchildren Alexandra (Brian & Sarah), Max and Myles (Michael & Melanie) and Evee (Kyle & Heather).  Also, her brother Tony Guerriero of Canada and many nieces and nephews in Canada, Illinois and California.


Clara is preceded in death by her husband Jerome Detloff Sr. and her son Max Detloff. 


There will be a private gathering for Clara on Saturday, August 14th concluding with burial at Saint Adalbert's Cemetery in Niles. 


Clara and her husband resided in Barrington and Cary, IL. She worked as a secretary in her husband's plumbing business. Together they traveled around the United States in their RV and ultimately retired to Florida, where Clara enjoyed most of her retirement years. Time spent with her grandchildren and traveling with family and friends were favorite pastimes, as well as dancing whenever she heard a good tune. 


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Love on a Leash, an organization dedicated to providing volunteer pet therapy teams to engage in animal assisted therapy.
