Obituary

       Charles H. Smith, Jr., age 84 of Cary passed away September 24, 2022 in Barrington, IL.  He was born March 3, 1938 in Chicago, the son of Charles H.  and Ethel Smith, Sr.

       Chuck is survived by his wife Marilyn G. (Berge) Smith whom he married on June 10, 1967 in Chicago.  His children:  Stephen (Danielle) Smith, Kristen (Al) Schinkel and Lauren (Zoltan) Muller, his grandchildren:  Nicholas, Justin, Aaron and Ashley, sister Marcia Frankenberry as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Chuck is preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Smith and a sister Susan Lafferty.

       Chuck served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Era.  He was a lifelong Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bear's fan as well as being a member of the Harvard Moose Lodge and Cary United Methodist Church.

       There will be a visitation for Chuck on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Rd., Cary.

        Memorials in Chuck’s name would be appreciated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Helping Paws.
