Charles E. Krejci

Charles E. Krejci, age 79, of Cary, IL, passed away peacefully in Barrington, IL on July 28, 2026. He was a proud veteran, husband, father, and grandfather, who leaves behind honor, thoughtful wisdom, and unwavering love for his family.

Charlie was born January 8, 1947 in Yoakum, TX to Augustin and Julia (née Hermes) Krejci.  He was raised with strong values that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He had integrity and a strong work ethic that he also instilled in his family.

Charlie graduated from St. Joseph High School in Victoria, TX in June, 1965. Shortly after that, he moved to Chicago IL, and went to DeVry University. With his education and enthusiasm for tackling hard work, Charlie became a purchasing supervisor, a career which he loved.

The greatest highpoint of Charlie’s greatest life adventures was meeting the love of his life when he was paired with Charlene Pearson on a blind date, a concert by The Mamas & the Papas. He relished retelling the tale of how that counterculture rock folk group brought them to set the stage for their life together. Their plan to marry expanded to a double wedding shared with Charlene’s sister, Maryann, and Charlie’s roommate, Dan Keller. The two couples married on June 6,1970 in Fontana, WI.

In 1971, Charlie and Charlene bought their first house in Cary, IL, where they raised their four children. They soon became dedicated members of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church and active in many community organizations.

While Charlie reveled in spending time with his kids and grandkids, he also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, he made room in his heart to enthusiastically cheer for the Blackhawks, Bears, Cubs, and White Sox.

Charlie is survived by and will be forever loved by his wife, Charlene; and their four children, Julie, Jeff, Jenny (Ron Andrews), and Janet (Lloyd Hamang); their nine grandchildren, Abbigayle (William), Thomas, Travis, Stephanie, Hannah, Amanda, Kelsey, Allison, and Emily; and many nieces and nephews who brighten their lives. He is also survived by his siblings, Virginia (Bill Richter) and Kenneth (Suzanne) Krejci.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary, IL 60013.

Mass will be at 10:30am, Friday, August 7, 2026, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 410 N. First Street, Cary, IL 60013.

Interment with military honors to follow at Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Road, Cary, IL 60013.
