Charles Ellison Obituary

Charles Edwin Ellison, born August 21, 1931 in Evanston and passed away May 22, 2021 in Northwestern Hospital McHenry.  He is the middle son of six children of Harold Pond Ellison and Emma Brousis. He was the loving husband of Josephine Mae Lewis from Danville, Va. who had passed in February 2017. He was the loving Father of James M. Ellison (passed 1998), Barbara G. Michonski, Veronica L. Johnson, and Florence DeeAnna Ellison.  He has seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. He served in the Marines for 2 years of active duty where he attained training in plumbing at Camp Lejeune and was in the first Marine engineer group and was a very significant contributor to the design of 29 Palms. He then was stationed in California to help rebuild pickle meadows, a cold weather training base, he also spent six years in the reserve. He loved his work which was running his own plumbing business and had a race car with his brother-in-law, Ronnie Lewis and nephew Paul Anderson. There will be a visitation for Charles on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Windridge Memorial Park, 7401 S. Rawson Bridge Rd., Cary beginning at 10:00 AM and concluding with a graveside service with military honors at 11:00 AM.
