Catherine Barbara Voss, known affectionately as Cathy to all who were graced by her laughter and kindness, Passed away peacefully in her sleep in the comfort of her own home on February 26, 2025. Cathy, born on a sunny day in Elgin, Illinois, in 1964, made her exit in Cary, Illinois.

Cathy's early years were spent under the loving guidance of her parents, Carolyn and Jim Dopke. She grew up alongside her sisters, Cindy Dopke and Cheri Opatrny, in a household filled with giggles and shenanigans that undoubtedly shaped the humorous soul she was. She carried this light-hearted spirit into motherhood, sharing endless laughs and crafting countless memories with her children, Trenton and Shelby Voss.

Her education journey led her to the beauty school, where she discovered her passion for making the world a brighter, more beautiful place, one haircut at a time. Cathy's career as a beautician and healthcare worker spanned over a quarter of a century, during which she not only styled hair but also touched lives with her care and compassion. Her colleagues weren't just people she worked with; they were her extended family, partners in crime, and the occasional victims of her good-natured pranks.

Cathy's interests were as colorful as her personality. She was the queen of crafts, turning ordinary objects into treasures, and there was no nature trail she didn't want to explore. Her greatest joy, however, was found in the laughter-filled moments with her family, whether that was during a chaotic game night or simply enjoying a meal together.

Describing Cathy is easy: kind, funny, loving. She was the person who could light up a room with her humor, the one who reminded us all not to take life too seriously.

Cathy's legacy is one of laughter, love, and the pursuit of happiness, right down to the smallest joys. She was a beacon of light, a source of comfort, and the best darn mother anyone could ask for. While we mourn the loss of our beloved Cathy, we also celebrate the countless smiles she bestowed upon us all.

Let us not say goodbye but rather "see you later," for her spirit and the memories she left behind will forever be etched in our hearts. Cathy, may your next adventure be as joyous and as full of love as the life you lived among us. We'll keep the laughter going down here for you.
