Carol Lynn Young

Carol Lynn Young, age 80, of Fox River Grove, IL, passed away on September 15, 2026. She was born December 26, 1945 in Oak Park, IL.

Known and loved by many as Carol, she was a beacon of warmth and light, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life was a testament to the importance of family and friends, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories. A devoted Catholic, she lived by the verse, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

Carol was a woman of many talents, being an avid cartoonist and story writer for the local newspaper, River Valley Clarion. She brought smiles to many faces with her unique characters and captivating stories. Her creativity extended to crafting, Rosemaling Art, and quilting, the latter of which she enjoyed with her friends from quilting clubs in McHenry County and Fox River Grove. She also had a keen eye for antiques, collecting and selling unique pieces. As a dedicated member of the Altar and Rosary society, she devotedly served her community and church.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Edward Young; and their sons, James, Edward, and Charles Young. She was a doting grandmother to Irene, Alex, and Stuart Young; and a loving great-grandmother to Hunter Balsano. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, Annette Gernay and John Kaiser. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen (née Kelly) Kaiser; and her sister, Erin Kaiser.

Visitation will be 11:00am until funeral service at 1:00pm, Monday, September 21, 2026, at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary, IL 60013. Deacon Mike Boyce will be officiating.

Interment to follow at Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Road, Cary, IL 60013.
