Burneal “Jake” Weseman passed away January 31, 2021 at JourneyCare in Barrington, Il. of natural causes at the age of 95.
He was born July 27, 1925 to Samuel and Mathilda (nee Naas) Weseman in Palatine, Il. He was one of 10 children. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1942 to 1946 in the South Pacific and received 6 Bronze Stars and 6 Campaign Ribbons. He moved to the Cary area in 1959. For many years he was a Tool & Die Machinist. Jake enjoyed fishing, watching The Chicago Cubs, and enjoyed horseshoes and spending time with his family.
Jake is survived by his children, Terri Szymanski, John (Sue) Weseman, Sue Boling, Kristi Weseman and Carol Haupt. He is survived by his Grandchildren, Russ (Michelle) Szymanski, Jason Weseman, Casey (Krystin) Weseman, Cindy (Jason) Larsen, Jenny Johnson, Jasmine Grimm, Ian Haupt and Alisha Haupt. He also has 13 great grand-children, Jacob Szymanski, Cameron, Casey and Kaydence Weseman, Ella and Mackenzie Larsen, Tommy, Brendon, and Ashley Johnson, Kailee and Madilyn Haupt, Richie and Aaliyah Fibish. He is also survived by Donna Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his sons, George Weseman and Tom Weseman, his brothers, Elmer, Everett (Jim), Harold, Norman (Dick), Marvin and sisters Mildred, June, Dorothy and Marcella.
Visitation will be at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with interment immediately following at Windridge Memorial Park. Due to Covid-19 the family will host a memorial gathering at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital at stjude.org and the fund has been set up as Burneal “Jake” Weseman Memorial Fund.
