Obituary
Betty Jayne McDonald passed away on May 25, 2023 at the age of 91.
Betty was born in Chicago to Carl and Florence (Fetter) Ohlson on January 7, 1932. She grew up with her older brother Robert (June) Ohlson in Chicago.
She graduated from the University of Illinois where she met her college sweetheart, William “Bill” McDonald.
Betty is survived by her six children William “Bryan” (Dorothy) McDonald, Barry McDonald, Bruce (Suzanne) McDonald, Sandra Devona, Timothy McDonald and Susan (Steven) Igielski, 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Betty was an avid reader and devoted mother and grandmother. She had a passion for flowers, solving puzzles, playing cards and doing arts and crafts. She will be remembered as a woman who loved many, laughed endlessly and touched people’s lives with her generosity and kindness. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Betty’s life at Kahle-Moore Funeral Home from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, May 30th located at 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary, IL 60013.
