Betty L. Happel

Betty L. Happel, age 90, of Arlington Heights formerly of Cary passed away September 16, 2014. She was born August 27, 1924 in Blue Earth, Minn. The daughter of Walter and Caroline Marholf. Betty is survived by seven children: Ronald (The late Kathy) Happel Donald (Judy) Happel Jean (Chuck) Taylor Linda (Myron) Wetzel Jim (Jan) Happel Diane (Mark) Nordman Debbie (Scott) Snow Grandmother of 19, gr. Grandmother of 7. Her brothers Leo (Mel) Marholf and Arnold (Shirley) Marholf. She is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Dr. Edmund H. Happel. Betty volunteered her time at Holy Cross Lutheran Church creating baptismal banners as well as donating her time at the Bethesda Thrift Shop in Crystal Lake. Visitation will be held at the Lutheran Home, 800 Oakton St., Arlington Heights on Friday, September 19, 2014, from 9:00 AM and concluding with a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM.
