Beatrice Ann Overheu

Beatrice "Bebe" Overheu peacefully passed from her life here on earth on January 10, 2022.  She was the daughter of Agnes Rose and Theodore Michael Berens. She was  born in Kenosha, WI, on January 23,1924. She was married to Russell B. Overheu. She is survived by her three children, Russ, Arlene, and Diane "Dina", her grandchildren, Tanya and Kyra, her great grandchildren, Clara, Jake, Justin, Ashley, Ricky, and one great great grandchild, Isabel. 

Bebe attended St. Joseph School in Waukegan and Waukegan High School where she was a member of the GAA, the Girls Athletic Association. She worked at Illinois Bell. She loved to talk so this was a perfect job for her. At times, she often got a "talking to" for conversing too much on the switchboard. She attended classes at the Chicago Art Institute after retirement. She was almost a professional artist and has left many masterpieces for her friends and family to cherish. After retiring, Bebe was president of the Telephone Pioneers, helped with the KEEP program, taught confirmation classes, and was the matriarch of the neighborhood. 

Bebe loved water and conversation. During high school, she was part of the synchronized swimmers. She enjoyed the park pools and beaches of Acapulco. She was considered the mayor of the pool deck. Her son, Russ,  built her a big front porch where she sat for endless hours entertaining the neighbors and watching the children walk to and from school. 

Bebe had a big heart and cared about her family and friends. She was loved! We will miss her dearly; however, we are grateful to have had her company for many extra special years. 

Bebe's funeral mass will be on Tuesday, January 18, 10:00 am at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Barrington IL. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to:  Hope For Haiti or Divine Word Missionaries at svdmissions.org.
